It is an understandable question, but it is not always the most helpful one.
Instant attraction can be exciting, but it does not necessarily predict compatibility, emotional safety, or a lasting relationship. Some of the strongest connections begin more quietly and grow as two people become comfortable with one another.
After your next date, ask yourself different questions:
Did I feel respected?
Was the conversation comfortable?
Did I see qualities I value?
Was there anything about this person I would enjoy discovering?
Would I be willing to spend one more evening together?
You are not deciding whether this is your person. You are deciding whether there is enough interest to remain open.
The small step is to allow curiosity to count.
